‘I waited all day for him’ — Linda Mtoba’s first heartbreak

Actress Linda Mtoba remembers her first heartbreak as a child: the day her father did not show up on her birthday. 

Taking to her Twitter timeline she opened up about her upbringing when a Twitter user by the name of Dr Nicole asked if people recalled when their hearts first broke as children. 

“My dad not coming or even calling for my birthday. I waited all day for him and ran to the phone inside when it rang. My [mom] family had thrown me a party. Still all I wanted was him to come or at least care enough to call. He didn’t. Maybe I was 4,” she replied to the tweet. 

She went on to explain her absent father broke hers and her mother’s hearts. She said her husband’s love for their daughter had healed her.

“My husband by virtue of being an amazing partner and an even better father not knowingly has healed so much of my hurt. I often look at him, especially now with our daughter and I want to cry at just how perfect those moments are,” she wrote in another tweet. 

In an interview with online mag Nounouche, the businesswoman praised her hubby for being her support system.

“My husband and I look great together, but it is way deeper, beyond looks. I know that no matter what he will love me and I will love him just as much. We love each other beyond the superficial.”
