Industry colleagues, friends and fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to Kagiso “The Pope” Ramoshai.

Radio Turf confirmed the Limpopo media personality and comedian died on Sunday. The Pope was reportedly involved in a car crash, which involved eight cars, between Madiba Park and Legae la batho outside Polokwane.

“Kagiso Ramoshai, affectionately known as Pope ya maatla, passed on. Kagiso hosted shows such as Gospel Top 20 Countdown and Maetišong. Gone too soon.”

Makhazi and King Monada were among celebrities who reacted to the news.

“Rest in peace my brother. Condolences to the family and all your friends,” Makhazi wrote. 

“Wake me up and tell me it's not true,” King Monada wrote. 

Such a young , blessed and influential soul [he] wore his heart on his sleeve and used his talent to praise God in more ways than one! Rest in paradise Kagiso 'Pope', mhlabawonke jikelele, re kwele bohloko my guy,” Poelano Setwaba wrote.
