Tumelo Manyoni, popularly known as Mr JazziQ, celebrated his 30th birthday by giving back to the less fortunate in the community of Alexandra.

Alexandra is the birthplace of the musician and where he was raised by his grandmother.

"Growing up I never used to think we were poor because everyone I grew up around lived in the same block of flats and ate the same food we ate. I realised we were less fortunate when I went to a multiracial school and started noticing the drastic differences between Sandton and Alex. This difference inspired me to work hard so I can come back home and give back to my people," he said.

The DJ and businessman distributed food parcels to 30 families and was joined by media personality Robot Boii and actress Mvelo Makhanya.

"I always spend my birthday with friends or family but this year, since I am entering the best years of my life, I wanted to first thank God for the gift of life and to give back to the soil that gave birth to me and my love for music.

"Without Alex there would be no JazziQ and I felt I needed to spend my birthday this way."
