Two years after the death of  actor Menzi Ngubane, his colleagues, friends and family celebrate his life.

The actor died on March 13 2021 after suffering a stroke at his home. He was 56.

Marking his death anniversary, the Menzi Foundation shared a tribute to the late star reflecting on how he fulfilled his legacy.

“God called you as you had ran your race and finished your purpose. We asked ourselves so many questions, however, we ultimately understood that we all belong to God, therefore souls return to him. May you continue to rest in peace Somahhashi, your spirit lives on.”

Previously speaking to TshisaLIVE, Menzi's widow Sikelelwa Ngubane said the couple's children missed their father.

“It's still difficult. Every morning I wake up in disbelief that he's really gone. It's unbelievable and still hurts as if it happened yesterday. At least I'm better now because I can speak about him without crying

“The children are struggling, the younger one even lost weight. He doesn't have an appetite. It's bad but we're trying to cope as best as we can. The void he left won't close but I have to be strong for the children.”

His daughter Siyasanga said she had not been able to watch her father on TV since his death. She said her mother's strength has made her grieving process easier.

“It's been tough, but seeing my mom being so strong makes everything better. It has made our relationship more open. We talk more. We've always been close, but now we speak more.”
